International black belt Taekwondo player-turned-gangster was arrested by Delhi Police’s Special Cell for having connections with underworld.
Ajay Gurjar aka Bhai ji was involved in more than 24 criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder, extortion, assault, riot, criminal intimidation and Arms Act in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mumbai.
According to the police officials, Gurjar is a person of high aggressiveness, dominance and violence.
He has won 8 gold medals at national level and also won a silver medal at the International Taekwondo championship in Bhutan in 2003. He finished at fifth spot in another International Taekwondo Championship held in Mumbai in 2005.
Ajay used to pick up fights with people on small matters. He was arrested by the police was stabbing a person in 2004 during a fight. After being released from the jail, he joined a gang of criminals and started demanding extortion from the rich people. He is considered a dreaded and dangerous criminal in Delhi NCR.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Special Cell), Jasmeet Singh said that Ajay was on a run since last four months in a case of special cell.
“Satender, an associate of Ajay, was earlier arrested by the Special Cell in August last year, but Gurjar went underground to evade arrest. A trial court had issued non-bailable warrant and further process under 82 CrPC against him.”

The Special Cell received a tip-off about the arrival of Gurjar at the Badarpur bus stand on Mathura road, to meet one of his close associates. The Delhi Police Special Cell planned to arrest the accused and laid a trap.
Gurjar was arrested from the spot along with one semi automatic pistol of 0.30 bore with five live cartridges.
The DCP said that Ajay also have connections with the underworld. He was sent to Hafij Baloch, an underworld gangster, by his cousin JP Gurjar.
Ajay was impressed by the luxurious life of Hafij and other gangsters. He along with his close associates including Subhash Thakur started demanding huge amount of money from doctors, businessmen, two former ministers of Haryana and their relatives between the year 2008 to 2018 in Haryana and Rajasthan.
The police is further investigating the matter and the statements of Ajay are also being verified.
