India is witnessing an unusual rise in cases of mob lynching in the name of religion. Lynching is an act of violence in which a mob, gathers to beat an unarmed person in the name of religion or administrating justice without trial.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that Hinduism has been defamed in the name of cows and mob Lynching, adding that it is plot to defame the religion. On the other hand, Muslim community claims that they have been the victim of mob lynching by the people of Hindu religion.

People belonging to Muslim religion kill the innocent young hindu people for following their religion and nobody raised their voices. The political class and bureaucracy continues to stay silent spectator on this issue.

Recently a 17-year-old Hindu youth was killed by an Islamist mob during the Saraswati Puja Visarjan procession in Jharkhand. Rupesh Pandey was killed in the middle of a ruckus that emerged during the Saraswati Visarjan procession which was passing from Lakhna Dulmaha Imambada of the Nai Taand village in Hazaribagh on February 6.

The helpless mother of the victim, who lost his life to heartless Islamist mob demanded capital punishment for the accused persons.

“I don’t want anything else, simply return my son to me. They have taken away the apple of our eye. We cannot bear the loss, we are going crazy. So far, no concrete action has been taken by the police. I’m alone. My son was my only hope. I do not keep well. Somehow we were making ends meet.”

Rupesh’s mother recalled that she had received a call from a doctor on the day of the incident, when her son was lying unconscious in the hospital. The cops refused to let her see her son.

“Either hang the culprits or give them to me. I will kill them. Just like they tortured and brutally hacked my son to death, I would kill them too.”

Other family members of the deceased victim stated that the police were bribed therefore, no action was taken against the culprits.

“Look for them and present them before us. A family member of the culprit’s family should also be executed, just like my son was.”

BJP MP from Ranchi, raised the subject in the parliament, describing the murder of the youth.
“Incidents of mob lynching are increasing continually in Jharkhand. The entire state is filled with a sense of doom and gloom. Intellectuals who protest and burn candles are deafeningly quiet. Rupesh Pandey, a victim of mob lynching, deserves to be compensated. As a result, the matter should be investigated by the CBI.”

Candle marches were organised all over the state of Jharkhand in protest of Rupesh Pandey’s murder by the Islamist mob during the Saraswati Visarjan. The mother of the victim along with hundreds of other people demanded capital punishment for the culprits.

People are raising their voice and demanding justice, government is being questioned about the law and order in the state. Vishwa Hindu Parishad have taken to the streets in protest against the brutal murder of the 17-year-old Hindu child, Rupesh Pandey.

Police has registered a complaint against 27 Muslims and other 100 unknown people for killing the child.
