On Thursday, the Supreme Court decided to look into the case involving the death of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surendra Singh Bishnoi, who was crushed by a truck while looking into illegal mining in Nuh, Haryana.

The court was apprised of the recent murder of DSP in Haryana by senior lawyer ADN Rao, who is acting as an amicus curiae in the case involving illicit mining in the Aravallis.

He brought up the issue before the SC bench and asked the Haryana government to provide a “Action Taken Report” on it. The SC has just prohibited mining in the Aravalli region and is also keeping an eye on mining operations, which is noteworthy. Justice AM Khanwilkar’s bench announced that it would take the matter under consideration.

Anil Vij, the home minister for Haryana, announced that a legal investigation into the DSP’s murder will be carried out by the state government.

The primary suspect in the murder of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surendra Singh Bishnoi was taken into custody earlier on Wednesday. The accused was named as Tauru, Haryana resident Shabir alias Mittar.

The suspect, who had fled the scene of the DSP’s murder and was hiding in the hills of Ganghora in Bharatpur (Rajasthan), was apprehended there.

The family of Surendra Singh Bishnoi will receive compensation in the amount of Rs 1 crore, according to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who also promised that those responsible would never get away easily. He promised that the state’s mining mafia will face heavy punishment.

According to Khattar, police stations will be built close to mining operations, and the locations of mining equipment and vehicles will also be fixed. One of the surviving family members of the deceased police officer will receive employment from the state government, according to the chief minister.

“We will control the mining mafia in the state and the culprits will not be spared. Strict action will be taken against them.”

The incident happened on Tuesday when DSP Surender Singh, who was looking into illegal mining, was killed by the mining gang after being ran over near Nuh’s Pachgaon. He chased down a dumper truck to stop while conducting raids against illegal mining in the Aravalli hills, but the driver didn’t stop and instead drove over the man before fleeing the scene.

Singh’s body was discovered in an unlocked trash can. A probe was started right away, and so far two persons have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

While the primary suspect, a truck driver named Sabbir alias Mittar, was detained on Wednesday in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, the first accused was taken into custody on Tuesday night.
