Saudi Arabia’s government has declared Tablighi Jamaat, a Sunni Islamic organisation, to be “one of the gates of terrorism” in the country. The government has ordered mosque preachers to deliver a sermon next Friday in which they will warn people about Tablighi Jamaat.
“1- A declaration of this group’s misdirection, deviation, and danger, as well as the fact that it is one of the gateways to terrorism, even if they claim otherwise.” 2- Mention their most egregious errors.
The organisation was founded in India in 1926 under the name ‘Society for Spreading Faith.’ It is a Sunni Islamic missionary movement that encourages Muslims to practise Sunni Islam in its purest form. They urge Muslims to strictly adhere to the dress code, rituals, and personal behaviour.
Tablighi Jamaat has a long history of working with banned terror groups in Pakistan, such as Harkat-ul-Mujahideen. According to Pakistani security analysts and Indian investigators, the original founders of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HuM), the terror group responsible for the hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 in 1999, were members of Tablighi Jamaat. Over 6,000 Tablighi adherents were reportedly trained in Harkat-ul-Mujahideen terrorist camps in Pakistan, according to intelligence.
According to Russian intelligence, seven Tablighi members were arrested and a terrorist cell affiliated with the Tablighi Jamaat, which is banned in Russia, was dismantled.
